[08-25-2026] Santa Clara County, CA – Worker Killed After Being Struck By Truck in San Jose

A 50-year-old San Jose city worker was killed after being struck by a truck while working on a streetlight in San Jose on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

The victim’s family identified him as Ari G., an electrician with the San Jose Department of Transportation.

Ari was working from a bucket truck in the area of Hillsdale and Narvaez avenues when another truck crashed into him. He was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle remained at the scene following the collision. No additional information about the driver or the circumstances leading to the crash was immediately available.

Ari’s family said he took pride in his work repairing streetlights for the city and had recently been recognized as an employee of the month.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
