Two drivers were taken to a hospital following a serious collision involving a BMW SUV and a double-tanker semi-truck in Lucerne Valley, San Bernardino County, on Tuesday morning, August 25, 2026.
According to California Highway Patrol incident logs, the crash was reported around 10:42 a.m. on State Route 18 near Meridian Road.
The semi-truck sustained extensive damage, with its cab overturned and a tanker trailer on its side. Firefighters extricated the semi-truck driver from the cab. CHP logs indicated that the driver was able to walk to a fire engine after being freed, and an air ambulance was requested.
The BMW driver was airlifted to a hospital for treatment. Additional information regarding the extent of either driver’s injuries was not immediately available.
The collision scattered debris and powder cement across the roadway, prompting the closure of both lanes of Highway 18 while emergency personnel and cleanup crews worked at the scene.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
