A four-vehicle crash involving injuries blocked the westbound Interstate 80 near Citrus Heights on Wednesday morning, August 19, 2026.
According to California Highway Patrol logs, the collision was reported around 8:56 a.m. on the westbound I-80 just before Greenback Lane and near the Antelope truck scales.
CHP initially reported that the Nos. 2 and 3 lanes were blocked. By approximately 9:06 a.m., all westbound lanes were reportedly closed as emergency crews responded.
Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District personnel extricated at least one person from a vehicle around 9:15 a.m. Information regarding the number of people injured and the severity of their injuries was not immediately available.
The collision caused significant congestion on the westbound I-80 through the area.
