[08-19-2026] Riverside County, CA – One Killed, Three Hospitalized in Two-Vehicle Crash in Menifee

One person was killed, and three others were transported to a hospital following a two-vehicle crash in Menifee on Wednesday night, August 19, 2026.

According to the Menifee Police Department, the collision occurred around 8:41 p.m. on Newport Road, east of Derby Hill Drive, and involved a 2022 Kia K5 and a 2011 BMW 328i.

Police said the BMW was traveling westbound on Newport Road while the Kia was heading eastbound. Preliminary findings indicate that the BMW crossed the center median and entered the eastbound lanes, where it collided with the Kia.

The Kia driver, a Lake Elsinore resident, was pronounced dead at the scene. An adult female passenger in the Kia sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where she was listed in critical but stable condition. A juvenile passenger was hospitalized as a precaution and was in stable condition.

An adult male passenger in the BMW was also transported to a hospital and remained in stable condition. The BMW driver and another passenger provided statements to officers at the scene.

Police said it has not yet been determined whether alcohol or drugs contributed to the collision.

The Menifee Police Department Traffic Unit continues to investigate the fatal crash.
