A 33-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a collision involving an SUV in Elk Grove on Tuesday evening, August 18, 2026.
According to the Elk Grove Police Department, officers responded to the incident at around 6:14 p.m. at the intersection of Lewis Stein Road and West Stockton Boulevard.
Police said a Honda CR-V was traveling northbound on Lewis Stein Road in a left-turn lane to head west onto Dracut Road. The motorcyclist was traveling southbound in a dedicated right-turn lane that also led west onto Dracut Road.
Investigators said that as the Honda turned left, the motorcyclist continued straight instead of turning and collided with the SUV. The motorcycle became lodged beneath the Honda’s right front tire.
The 33-year-old rider was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was not immediately released pending identification by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
The Honda driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The Elk Grove Police Department continues to investigate the fatal crash.
