[08-18-2026] Sonoma County, CA – 9-Year-Old Boy Seriously Injured After Being Struck By Vehicle in Santa Rosa

A 9-year-old boy suffered serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a street in Santa Rosa on Tuesday night, August 18, 2026.

According to the Santa Rosa Police Department, the incident was reported at around 8:28 p.m. in the 900 block of Yulupa Avenue.

Police said the child sustained significant injuries and was transported to a regional trauma center for treatment.

The Mustang driver, identified as a 41-year-old Santa Rosa man, was evaluated for possible alcohol and drug use. Investigators said neither alcohol nor drugs is currently believed to have contributed to the collision.

Authorities are also working to determine the Mustang’s speed at the time of the crash. Police said the driver has not been arrested and is not currently considered a suspect.

The Santa Rosa Police Department continues to investigate the incident.
