A motorcyclist suffered major injuries in a collision involving another vehicle in Cottonwood, Shasta County, on Monday morning, August 17, 2026.
According to California Highway Patrol incident logs, the crash was reported around 9:53 a.m. on southbound Interstate 5 at the Sunset Hills Drive off-ramp.
Preliminary reports indicated that the collision involved a motorcycle and a silver Chrysler. The motorcyclist sustained injuries to the left side and face and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
CHP initially classified the collision as involving minor injuries but later updated it to a major-injury crash.
Additional information regarding the circumstances leading to the crash was not immediately available.
