[08-16-2026] Riverside County, CA – Woman Killed, Another Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on I-215 in Perris.webpA 24-year-old woman was killed, and another person sustained moderate injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 215 in Perris early Sunday morning, August 16, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded to the incident at around 12:20 a.m. on the northbound I-215, north of Ramona Expressway.

CHP’s preliminary investigation indicated that a 2008 Mazda 3 was traveling at a high rate of speed when it lost control, left the roadway, and struck the guardrail in the center median. The Mazda overturned onto its roof and came to rest in the leftmost lane, where it was struck by a 2015 Ford Explorer.

An occupant of the Mazda was ejected during the crash and sustained fatal injuries. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Coroner identified her as 24-year-old Valerie Martinez of Moreno Valley. Another occupant of the Mazda suffered moderate injuries. The two people inside the Ford were uninjured.

CHP said alcohol was a factor in the crash.

The CHP continues to investigate the fatal collision.
