[08-13-2026] Sacramento County, CA – Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-5

A motorcyclist suffered major injuries in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 in Sacramento on Thursday afternoon, August 13, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred shortly before 3:30 p.m. on I-5 south of Interstate 80.

CHP said traffic ahead of the motorcyclist slowed, and the rider collided with a sedan traveling ahead. The motorcyclist then continued to the left and struck the trailer of a semi-truck.

The semi-truck driver left the scene before CHP officers arrived. The motorcyclist sustained major injuries. An update on the rider’s condition was not immediately available.

The CHP continues to investigate the crash.
