A 32-year-old man riding an electric bicycle was killed in a collision with an SUV in Modesto on Saturday night, August 8, 2026.
According to the Modesto Police Department, the collision occurred near the intersection of Tully Road and Roseburg Avenue.
Preliminary findings indicate the e-bike rider was traveling east on Roseburg Avenue and entered the intersection against a red light before colliding with an SUV traveling north on Tully Road.
The e-bike rider was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not released his identity pending notification of next of kin. The SUV driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Police said witness statements and evidence collected at the scene support their preliminary findings.
The Modesto Police Department continues to investigate the crash.
