[08-06-2026] Alameda County, CA – Woman Critically Injured After Being Struck by Car in Oakland.webpA woman was critically injured after being struck by a car reportedly driven by two young children in Oakland on Thursday, August 6, 2026.

According to the Oakland Police Department, a 7-year-old boy and his 4-year-old brother reportedly took their parents’ Toyota while the parents were sleeping. 

The children traveled several blocks from their home before the vehicle struck a woman who was walking her dog on 35th Avenue.

The woman sustained critical injuries in the collision. The two children were found outside the vehicle following the crash. Authorities have not released additional information regarding their conditions. The woman’s dog ran away after the collision, and its whereabouts were not immediately known.

Police said the children’s parents are cooperating with investigators. No further details were immediately available.
