[08-04-2026] Santa Barbara County, CA – Passenger Transported To Hospital After Crash at Sutter Health Parking Lot

A Tesla crashed into five parked vehicles at the Sutter Health north entrance parking lot in Santa Barbara on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.

According to the Santa Barbara Police Department, the crash occurred just before noon on Pesetas Lane.

Witnesses reported that the Tesla struck a curb at high speed, became airborne, and crashed into five unoccupied parked vehicles. The Tesla was occupied by the driver and one passenger.

Emergency crews responded to the scene, where the passenger was assisted from the vehicle and transported to a local hospital by ambulance. The driver remained at the scene and spoke with investigators.

Authorities have not released information regarding the extent of the passenger’s injuries or whether any citations or charges will be filed. At least three of the damaged vehicles, including the Tesla, were towed from the scene.

The authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
