A 66-year-old cyclist was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle in South Berkeley on Friday afternoon, July 24, 2026.
According to the Berkeley Police Department, officers responded at around 1:10 p.m. to the 2800 block of Sacramento Street.
Police said the cyclist was thrown approximately 10 feet into the air and was initially unconscious following the crash. Preliminary reports indicate the cyclist was crossing the street when a southbound vehicle struck him. The driver reportedly remained at the scene, and the vehicle sustained significant damage to the windshield.
The cyclist was transported by ambulance with lights and sirens to Highland Hospital for treatment. Authorities have not released additional information regarding his condition.
