[07-20-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – Teen Killed, Another Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash in Lawndale

A teenager was killed, and another was injured after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash in Lawndale, Los Angeles County, on Monday night, July 20, 2026.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the collision occurred around 10:15 p.m. in the 4200 block of Rosecrans Avenue. Deputies responded and found that a vehicle had collided with two juveniles, one riding an e-scooter and the other riding an e-bike.

Authorities said the juvenile riding the e-scooter was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

The juvenile riding the e-bike suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene before being released to his parents.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported that investigators do not currently have identifying information about the suspect vehicle.

The investigation remains ongoing.
