[07-24-2026] San Diego County, CA – Scooter Rider Critically Injured After Being Struck By DUI Driver in Rancho Bernardo.webpA 41-year-old man was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle while riding an electric scooter in Rancho Bernardo, San Diego, on Friday night, July 24, 2026.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the crash occurred around 9:50 p.m. in the 11100 block of Camino Del Norte.

Authorities reported that the victim was traveling northbound in the east crosswalk when a westbound 2005 Honda Pilot allegedly ran a red light at the intersection of Camino Del Norte and Paseo Montanoso, striking him.

The scooter rider was transported to a hospital, where his injuries were described as imminently life-threatening.

The 27-year-old driver of the Honda Pilot was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. The investigation is ongoing.
