A semi-truck driver was injured after the vehicle crashed into Anna Kirchgater Elementary School in Sacramento County on Wednesday morning, July 22, 2026.
According to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District, fire crews responded to the incident involving a passenger vehicle and a semi-truck at around 11:21 a.m. on Power Inn Road at the Elk Grove Unified School District campus.
Authorities said the semi-truck driver made an evasive maneuver to avoid hitting a passenger vehicle, causing the truck to leave the roadway, strike a sound wall, and then crash into the elementary school.
The semi-truck driver became trapped inside the cab and was extricated by emergency crews before being transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation. The driver of the passenger vehicle was not injured.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the collision.
