A fatal crash on the 10 Freeway in Fontana early Sunday morning, July 19, 2026, resulted in one death and the arrest of a driver on suspicion of driving under the influence.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported just before 5 a.m. on the westbound lanes east of Sierra Avenue. A Toyota Scion collided with a Chevy Trailblazer, causing the Chevy driver to be ejected.
After the initial collision, another vehicle struck the ejected driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Two additional vehicles were involved in the incident.
The driver of the Toyota Scion was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI.
CHP continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
