A collision involving two semi-trucks shut down the intersection of Old Woman Springs Road (SR-247) and Barstow Road in Lucerne Valley, San Bernardino County, on Thursday morning, July 9, 2026.
According to California Highway Patrol traffic logs, the crash was reported around 6:55 a.m.
Authorities said a red single-trailer semi traveling on Old Woman Springs Road struck a white double-trailer semi that was crossing the intersection from Barstow Road.
The collision caused significant damage to both trucks, including the separation of one of the white semi’s trailers and major front-end damage to the red semi.
Debris, vehicle parts, and spilled cargo, including rocks from the white semi and ammonium nitrate from the red semi, were scattered across the roadway. Both drivers were able to exit their vehicles and were reported as possibly injured.
The CHPl continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
