[07-02-2026] Ventura County, CA – E-Bike Rider Critically Injured in DUI Crash in Oxnar.webpAn e-bike rider was critically injured after being struck by a 2020 Nissan Titan pickup truck in a suspected DUI crash in Oxnard on Thursday night, July 2, 2026.

According to the Oxnard Police Department, the incident was reported shortly after 8 p.m. at the intersection of Patterson Road and Oarfish Lane.

The rider, identified as a 30-year-old Oxnard man, was located nearby with major injuries and was transported to Ventura County Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition.

Investigators said the bicyclist was traveling eastbound and allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign before being struck by the southbound pickup truck on Patterson Road.

The truck driver, identified as 36-year-old Jesus Preciado of Oxnard, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police said he was evaluated for impairment and arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The Oxnard Police Department continues to investigate the crash.
