[06-27-2026] San Joaquin County, CA – Bicyclist and Two Dogs Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle Near Shumway Oak Grove Regional Park.webpA bicyclist and two dogs were killed after being struck by a vehicle in San Joaquin County on Saturday morning, June 27, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported around 10:18 a.m. on Eight Mile Road near Shumway Oak Grove Regional Park.

Officers found the bicyclist deceased, along with two dogs that had been in a shopping cart being towed by the victim. A medical examiner estimated the bicyclist had been deceased for approximately four to twelve hours prior to discovery.

Authorities reported that the victim was struck by a westbound vehicle. CHP believes the suspect vehicle may be a silver or light gray SUV or a Ford truck with major right front damage, possibly seen in the Spanos Park West area of Scott’s Creek Drive.

The investigation remains ongoing.
