According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 10 a.m. on the southbound lanes just north of the Grant Street exit.

A 27-year-old motorcyclist, Mohamed S., died at the scene after being ejected from the motorcycle.

Authorities stated the rider struck the rear of a red Subaru sedan. The driver of the Subaru was uninjured, and no other occupants were in the vehicle.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and officials are seeking witnesses with additional information.
