A 36-year-old man was killed after a sedan struck the rear of a white bobtail semi-truck tractor without a trailer in Hesperia early Saturday morning, June 20, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at around 4:25 a.m. on the northbound Interstate 15 near Ranchero Road.
Initial reports indicated the sedan was speeding, and witnesses said it had been weaving across the roadway prior to the collision.
The sedan sustained major damage, and about 25 feet of Caltrans fencing was damaged in the crash.
The deceased was identified as Michael A. Farace of Costa Mesa. He was pronounced dead at the scene along the dirt shoulder of Interstate 15.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the CHP.
