A crash involving two big rig semi trucks and another vehicle temporarily closed northbound lanes of State Route 86 in Coachella on Thursday morning, June 11, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collisions were reported around 4:00 a.m.
Authorities stated that one semi truck rear-ended another in the northbound lanes, and a third vehicle then collided with the trucks, causing one of the big rigs to catch fire.
No major injuries were reported. Traffic was backed up as emergency crews worked to clear the scene, and motorists were advised to use alternate routes, including Tyler Street and 50th Avenue to Grapefruit Boulevard, and to expect delays.
All northbound lanes of SR-86 have since been reopened. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
What A Lawyer Can Do For You
Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
