[06-03-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle in Long Beach.webpA woman was struck and killed while crossing the Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach on Wednesday morning, June 3, 2026.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, the incident occurred around 4:50 a.m. near PCH and Pacific Avenue. 

Officers found an adult female pedestrian lying in the roadway. Long Beach Fire Department personnel transported her to a local hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. 

Preliminary investigation indicates that the woman was walking southbound in the east crosswalk against a red light when she was struck by a 2019 Chevrolet Malibu traveling westbound, driven by a 19-year-old Long Beach resident. 

The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Police reported that excessive speed, impairment, and distracted driving do not appear to be factors.

The investigation remains ongoing.
