[05-22-2026] Sacramento County, CA – Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle on Florin Rd.

A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle in south Sacramento early Friday morning, May 22, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 2:35 a.m. on eastbound Florin Road just west of Florin Perkins Road.

Authorities stated that the male pedestrian was in the eastbound lane when he was struck by the vehicle. 

The driver was reported to be unable to see the pedestrian and quickly pulled over to contact emergency services.

Emergency responders pronounced the victim dead at the scene. His identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. It remains unclear whether the pedestrian was attempting to cross the roadway at the time of the crash.

Officials said alcohol and drugs are not believed to have been factors in the incident. The investigation remains ongoing.
