[05-16-2026] Sonoma County, CA – One Killed, Three Injured in Crash on Highway 1 Near Salt Point State Park.webpOne person was killed, and three others were injured following a solo vehicle crash in Sonoma County on Saturday afternoon, May 16, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded to the incident at around 1:50 p.m. on Highway 1 near Salt Point State Park.

Authorities stated that an adult woman driving a Nissan Rogue southbound lost control of the vehicle, causing it to leave the roadway, strike a tree, overturn on an embankment, and come to rest on its roof.

An adult male passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and two additional adult passengers sustained minor injuries and were transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Officials reported that all four occupants were visiting the United States from Germany. No other vehicles were involved, and DUI is not suspected.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
