[05-13-2026] Nevada County, CA – Child Critically Injured in Bicycle Crash in Grass Valley

A child sustained critical injuries after being struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle in Grass Valley, Nevada County, on Wednesday evening, May 13, 2026.

According to the Grass Valley Police Department, the collision was reported around 6:45 p.m. in the 600 block of Whiting Street.

Authorities stated that the child was hit by a vehicle while riding a bicycle and was airlifted to a hospital for treatment of critical injuries.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been factors in the collision.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
