Two people were injured following a wrong-way crash in Bakersfield on Saturday night, May 9, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded to the incident at around 9:10 p.m. on northbound Highway 99 at Rosedale Highway.
Authorities stated that a 2018 Chevrolet Impala was traveling southbound in the number one lane of northbound Highway 99 when it collided with a 2003 Honda Accord driven by an 18-year-old woman traveling northbound.
Both drivers were transported to Kern Medical with minor to moderate injuries.
Officials identified the driver of the Chevrolet as 33-year-old Gabrielle V. of Bakersfield. She was later arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
The investigation remains ongoing.
