One person was killed, and another sustained critical injuries following a fiery two-vehicle crash in the Palms area of Los Angeles on Monday night, May 4, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 7:15 p.m. on eastbound Interstate 10 near Robertson Boulevard.
Los Angeles Fire Department crews responded to the scene and saw one of the vehicles fully engulfed in flames. After extinguishing the fire, officers found a person who was pronounced dead at the scene. A second person was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
Officials also stated that a third person, who was reportedly being detained at the scene by bystanders, was transported from the area in an unknown condition.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
