[05-04-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash in Van Nuys

A 40-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Van Nuys, Los Angeles County, on Monday night, May 4, 2026.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident occurred around 10:07 p.m. at the intersection of Sepulveda Boulevard and Sherman Way.

Authorities reported that the victim was inside a crosswalk when he was struck by a white four-door BMW traveling southbound on Sepulveda Boulevard at a high rate of speed.

Officers arrived at the scene and found the man lying in the roadway, where he was pronounced dead.

Police stated that the driver fled the scene without stopping, but was later taken into custody.

The investigation is ongoing.
