A big rig rollover on Highway 166 near Miranda Canyon Road in San Luis Obispo County caused significant traffic delays late Tuesday evening, April 28, 2026.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the crash occurred at around 10:42 p.m., closing both lanes of the highway. Emergency crews responded quickly to secure the scene and mitigate hazards.
While there was initial concern about a potential fuel leak, it was later confirmed to be a motor oil spill. The spill was contained to the roadway, and cleanup was completed by the morning.
Although the number of people involved in the crash remains unknown, no further details have been released regarding any injuries. Work crews, including Cal Fire units, remained on scene throughout the night, and the crash site was cleared by morning.
The cause of the rollover is still under investigation.
