Two drivers were injured, one critically, in a head-on collision on Highway 166 near Cuyama in Santa Barbara County, late Sunday night, April 19, 2026.
According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the crash occurred around 11:10 p.m. about a mile west of Highway 33.
One driver sustained major injuries and was airlifted to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, while the other driver was transported to Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria with moderate injuries.
Authorities stated that no passengers were involved, and no additional injuries were reported.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
