[04-19-2026] Riverside County, CA – Infant Killed, Several Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on 215 Freeway.webpA 3-month-old infant was killed, and several others were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on the 215 Freeway in Riverside on Sunday night, April 19, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported just before 7:40 p.m. on the northbound lanes near Eucalyptus Avenue.

The infant, identified as Leon M. of Perris, was transported to a local trauma center but was later pronounced dead. Four other individuals, including another infant, were also taken to nearby hospitals.

Authorities said the driver of a Toyota sustained moderate injuries, while the driver of a Nissan suffered major injuries. A woman and a child inside the Nissan also sustained minor to moderate injuries.

CHP officers later confirmed that the crash involved three vehicles: a Honda Civic, a Nissan Versa, and a Toyota RAV4. Investigators stated the Nissan struck the rear of the Honda, followed by the Toyota striking the Nissan.

Firefighters used hydraulic tools to extricate one adult from a vehicle. Authorities noted that impairment is not suspected to be a factor in the crash.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
