A female passenger was killed in a solo vehicle crash on Interstate 280 in Los Altos Hills, Santa Clara County, on Monday morning, April 6, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at around 7:50 a.m., north of El Monte Road.
Investigators report that the Honda Accord was traveling southbound on I-280 when it veered into the center median and crashed head-on into a tree.
The female passenger, seated in the rear of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not been released.
The driver and the front passenger were transported to a local hospital with major injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
