[04-06-2026] San Diego County, CA – Woman Injured After Being Hit by Car on Pacific Highway.webpA woman was severely injured after being struck by a car on Pacific Highway in San Diego on Monday morning, April 6, 2026.

According to the San Diego Police Department, officers responded to the scene around 1:20 a.m. near the intersection of Pacific Highway and Washington Street. 

Investigators report that a male driver of a van lost control, causing the vehicle to spin out. Both the driver and passenger exited the van, but the woman was struck by oncoming traffic. She sustained a severe open fracture to her leg and was transported to the hospital for trauma treatment.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the passenger remained at the scene and suffered minor injuries. 

The cause and sequence of events leading up to the collision are still under investigation.
