Two people were hospitalized after their car struck a fire hydrant and overturned in Temple City, Los Angeles County, on Wednesday night, April 1, 2026.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the crash shortly after 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of Rosemead Boulevard and Las Tunas Drive.
Emergency crews found the car on its roof after it collided with the hydrant and flipped over in a Mobile gas station parking lot. One occupant had to be extricated from the vehicle. Water from the damaged hydrant was seen spraying approximately 100 feet into the air.
Both individuals were treated by Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel at the scene. One patient was found lying in the street, surrounded by rushing water, while the second was loaded into an ambulance on a stretcher. Both were transported to a local hospital in unknown condition.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
