[03-14-2026] Santa Clara County, CA – 17-Year-Old Boy Killed in Suspected Hit-and-Run on Highway 101 in Morgan Hill

A 17-year-old boy was found dead on Highway 101 under the Tennant Avenue overcrossing in Morgan Hill, Santa Clara County, on March 14, 2026, after a suspected hit-and-run incident.

California Highway Patrol officers were alerted just after 3:00 a.m. to a report of a victim in the roadway. 

Investigators suspect that the boy was struck by a hit-and-run driver while walking near the northbound lanes of Highway 101. However, other factors have not been ruled out in the ongoing investigation.

The victim’s name has not been publicly released by law enforcement. The CHP urges anyone with information about the incident to contact the CHP Hollister-Gilroy Area office at (408) 427-0700.
