[03-04-2026] San Bernardino County, CA – Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck By Motorcycle on Twentynine Palms Highway

A 55-year-old man was killed after being struck by a motorcycle on Twentynine Palms Highway in Twentynine Palms, San Bernardino County, on Wednesday morning, March 4, 2026.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the incident was reported just before 3:45 a.m. at the intersection of Twentynine Palms Highway and Mesquite Springs Road. 

Preliminary investigations revealed that the motorcyclist, traveling eastbound, struck the pedestrian, who was walking in the eastbound lanes of travel for unknown reasons.

The motorcyclist sustained significant injuries and was transported by ground ambulance to High Desert Medical Center before being airlifted to Desert Regional Medical Center for advanced care.

The pedestrian, identified as Jimmy R. of Twentynine Palms, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation, and authorities are asking anyone with information to contact Deputy A. Camacho at the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station at (760) 366-1400.
