[02-28-2026] Ventura County, CA – Two Women Killed, Three Injured in Head-On Crash on SR-23 in Moorpark

Two women were killed, and three other people were injured in a head-on collision in Moorpark on Saturday afternoon, February 28, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred just after 2:00 p.m. on State Route 23 near Los Angeles Avenue. 

Investigators said the driver of a Chevrolet was traveling along the center median at a high rate of speed before losing control, crossing into oncoming traffic, and colliding with a Lexus sedan.

CHP stated that the passenger in the Chevrolet was ejected and died at the scene. The driver of the Lexus was also pronounced dead at the scene. Two other individuals were transported to a hospital with serious injuries, while the driver of the Chevrolet sustained moderate injuries.

No arrests have been reported. The collision remains under investigation.
