[02-27-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – Man Killed After Hit-and-Run Crash on I-5 in Castaic

A 22-year-old man, identified as Alejandro C., was killed in a hit-and-run crash on the Golden State (5) Freeway in Castaic late Friday night, February 27, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), officers responded at around 11:22 p.m. to the southbound freeway and the Lake Hughes Road off-ramp. The victim sustained blunt force injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said a white semi-truck collided with a white Toyota Corolla. The driver of the semi-truck fled the scene and did not stop to render aid.

The incident remains under investigation.
