[02-25-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – Hit-and-Run Crash Kills 56-Year-Old Man in Compton

A 56-year-old man, identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office as Jose N.,  was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver in Compton on Wednesday night, February 25, 2026.

According to authorities, deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene at the intersection of North Alameda and East Dixon streets around 9:38 p.m. 

Officers found the victim unconscious, and paramedics from the Compton Fire Department attempted to revive him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene and did not stop to render aid. No vehicle description has been provided.

The incident remains under investigation.
