[02-12-2026] Sacramento County, CA – Fiery Vehicle Crash Causes Traffic Delays on Westbound I-80.webpA crash on westbound Interstate 80 in Sacramento County resulted in a vehicle catching fire Thursday morning, February 12, 2026. 

The collision was reported at around 7:35 a.m. just west of Greenback Lane in the Foothill Farms area.

According to California Highway Patrol traffic logs, road officials issued a SigAlert, indicating that extended closures or delays were expected. The SigAlert was canceled at 8:19 a.m., but traffic maps showed congestion stretching as far north as Roseville by 8:25 a.m.

Video footage from the scene showed a vehicle engulfed in flames. CHP’s traffic logs indicate that injuries are unknown at this time. 

The cause of the crash and the number of vehicles involved are still under investigation.
