[02-07-2026] San Diego County, CA – Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash in Pacific Beach

A pedestrian was killed after being struck in a hit-and-run collision in Pacific Beach, San Diego County, early Saturday morning, February 7, 2026.

According to the San Diego Police Department, officers responded just after 2:00 a.m. to reports of a man lying in the roadway on Garnet Avenue near Gresham Street. Police said callers did not witness the collision itself but reported seeing a vehicle flee the area.

First responders performed CPR on the man at the scene before he was transported to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla with major injuries. Authorities said the man later died at the hospital. His identity has not been released.

SDPD said the suspect vehicle may be a white SUV that sustained front-end damage near a headlight. Officials stated it was not known whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.

The San Diego Police Department Traffic Division is investigating the incident.
