Four people were injured following a DUI-related crash in Santa Cruz County on Monday night, January 26, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision was reported at approximately 9:30 p.m. on the northbound Highway 1 on-ramp at Riverside Drive. CAL FIRE CZU responded to the scene, where extrication was required.
CAL FIRE officials reported that four patients sustained injuries ranging from moderate to major. Crews from Pajaro Dunes and Watsonville Fire worked together to safely extricate the injured individuals from the vehicles involved.
Authorities stated that three patients were transported to a hospital by ground ambulance, while another was airlifted for specialized medical care.
CHP indicated the crash is being investigated as a DUI.
