[01-19-2026] Amador County, CA – Lodi Bicyclist Killed After Being Struck by Vehicle on Buena Vista Road.webpA 78-year-old bicyclist from Lodi was killed after being struck by a vehicle while riding on Buena Vista Road in Amador County on Sunday afternoon, January 19, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 3:10 p.m. on Buena Vista Road south of Camanche Parkway North, between Camanche and Pardee reservoirs. 

CHP identified the bicyclist as Dr. Bennie Weber of Lodi. Investigators said Weber was traveling southbound when a northbound Toyota Corolla driven by a 30-year-old man from Rancho Cordova attempted to pass as Weber made a left turn near Camanche Parkway North, resulting in a collision.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene and attempted medical aid, but Weber was pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries.

The California Highway Patrol stated that the collision remains under investigation.
