A young driver was injured following a traffic collision involving two vehicles on Interstate 80 just east of the McBryde Avenue off-ramp in Alameda County on Wednesday night, January 14, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported around 10:40 p.m. and involved a Subaru and a Toyota Prius.
CHP said the Subaru was traveling westbound in the middle lane when the driver attempted to merge into the left lane and did not see the Prius already in that lane. The Subaru struck the Prius, causing both vehicles to spin out of control.
Authorities said the Subaru hit the center divider and rolled over, coming to rest on its roof. The Prius continued to spin before coming to a stop after striking a nearby vehicle. The driver of the Subaru was transported to a hospital with minor injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
What A Lawyer Can Do For You
Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
