[10-30-2025] Man in Wheelchair Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on O Street in BakersfieldA man in a wheelchair was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on O Street in Bakersfield on Thursday morning, October 30, 2025.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the crash occurred around 6:25 a.m. in the 3600 block of O Street, near Stella Hills Elementary School. 

Officers found the man in the roadway suffering from severe injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect vehicle, which was traveling northbound on O Street at a high rate of speed, struck the pedestrian who was crossing outside of a crosswalk in a wheelchair. 

The vehicle fled the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.
