[10-26-2025] Hit-and-Run Driver Sought After Pedestrian Killed on Airport Drive South of Roberts Lane in OildaleA woman was killed after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Oildale, Kern County, on Sunday night, October 26, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, officers were dispatched around 8:46 p.m. to Airport Drive, south of Roberts Lane, for reports of a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. Upon arrival, the incident was determined to be a deadly hit-and-run crash.

Preliminary investigations revealed that a female pedestrian of unknown age was walking north along the east curb edge of Airport Drive. An unknown vehicle was traveling northbound on Airport Drive at an unknown speed when it struck the pedestrian, propelling her in a northeasterly direction.

The vehicle left the scene immediately after the crash. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is unclear if alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
