A van driver sustained serious injuries following a head-on collision with a semi-truck in Winchester, Riverside County, on Monday morning, October 20, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported around 10:50 a.m. at Winchester Road and Olive Avenue.

The semi and van collided head-on at the intersection. Riverside County Fire Department crews arrived within minutes and found the van driver trapped inside the wreckage with life-threatening injuries.

Firefighters performed a cut-and-rescue operation and extricated the driver shortly after 11 a.m. The victim, whose identity has not been released, was transported to a regional trauma center for treatment. The truck driver was not injured, and there were no passengers in the van.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
