A 10-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries after a hit-and-run collision on southbound Interstate 5 near Highway 162 in Willows on Sunday, August 31, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when the driver of an unknown vehicle changed lanes abruptly, causing 46-year-old Elder A. of Patterson to lose control of his 2000 Honda. The vehicle veered off the road, struck a fence, rolled over, and came to rest on its side.
The 10-year-old passenger complained of neck pain and was transported to a hospital for treatment. The driver responsible for the lane change continued southbound on I-5 without stopping. No arrests have been made, and the unknown driver remains at large.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
